Kathy Adams

Kathy Adams is a painter and printmaker based in Surrey.  Working in both disciplines leads to a cross-over of techniques and ideas. She usually starts by photographing or sketching a scene that catches her eye, and then explores ways of interpreting the lines, shapes, patterns and colours that she sees. A painting can lead to a print and vice versa. Finding beauty in abandoned and derelict manmade structures, she is drawn to grids, intersecting lines and the shapes formed by the gaps. Metallic paints feature strongly in her paintings as they reflect light and the colours around them.  Her work has been exhibited in Switzerland and the UK mainly in group shows. Her paintings and original prints hang in private collections in Switzerland, Spain, France, Sweden, Denmark and the UK. She has a number of clients for whom she has created unique large-scale works on canvas designed specifically for their homes.
